Do you speak Spanish? Are you learning the language? Do you teach Spanish? Would you like to learn it? Are you passing Spanish on to your children? Why is this language important to you? What's life like for a Spanish speaker in the UK?
This 2-hour workshop aims to collect the experiences of Spanish speakers and users (learners, teachers) of all ages to do with how they use the language. The workshop will be run during a special radio programme broadcast live on Fiesta 95 FM radio (a Latin American radio station located in Southampton), and its Facebook site.
Participants will be invited to create their 'linguistic portrait' and then be interviewed live on air. The aim of this activity is to make visible the presence of multilinguals who, in addition to other languages, use Spanish in their everyday lives (at home, in school, on social media, in the workplace, at university), and what this language means for them.
During the workshop you will have the opportunity to reflect upon your multilingual and multicultural lives and discuss your cultural experiences in which Spanish is involved.
Families and groups of friends will be more than welcome!
