Making an Impact: What Drives Our Impact on the Natural Environment?

Join us to discover how an interactive model of 'IPAT' can help you better understand how our impact (I) on the natural environment is largely influenced by interactions between population growth (P), affluence (A) and technology (T).

Although IPAT (I=PxAxT) is usually represented as a mathematical formula, this exhibit brings IPAT to life in a three-dimensional space in which the 'PAT' factors are each represented on a large 'half-cube', within which you can place 64 smaller 'impact cubes' to represent the varying effects of the three 'PAT' factors on the natural environment.

This 3D model can help all of us better understand how we can protect our planet.
