Solent Mind and Theatre for Life connected young people (14-25 years) with older people with dementia. Through weekly creative activities, the groups shared experiences to gain an insight into each other's lives through restorative and arts based activities to improve health, wellbeing and social isolation.

'Roots and Branches' supported 23 older people with early onset to moderate dementia with young people with mental health needs in Southampton and Portsmouth.

Film maker Goncalo Valle has captured the creative interactions between generations, helping to promote cognitive stimulation with our dementia groups with a focus on reminiscence theatre.

Our documentary is an insightful & reflective look into the community spirit of generations coming together, connecting the past with the present, and providing us a strong sense of who we are as individuals.
